Bunk and Lester are back! The creators of HBO’s acclaimed series The Wire have an upcoming series Treme, focusing on post-Katrina New Orleans. Knowing how great The Wire is, this show should be just as gangsta, or at least almost so.

District 13: Ultimatum
This is the sequel to the 2004 French film District B13. I don’t know how big the following for that movie is, but for what it is, an action packed thriller addressing class issues and showcasing Parkour, it is highly entertaining. Ultimatum should be released on DVD here in the U.S. pretty soon, but in the meantime, go rent District B13 if you haven’t already seen it.

A Shtick With a Thousand Lives
MEL BROOKS and Carl Reiner have been cracking each other up for nearly 60 years. The two met while working on Sid Caesar’s early television series “Your Show of Shows,” when they cooked up a routine in which Mr. Reiner played an earnest, unnamed TV interviewer, and Mr. Brooks, the 2,000 Year Old Man.
In a Yiddish accent, the old guy held forth on the questionable wisdom of an absurdly long life, touching on topics including parenthood (“I have over 42,000 children — and not one comes to visit me”), Shakespeare (“He was a dreadful writer.” “Every letter was cockeyed, he had the worst penmanship I ever saw in my life!”) and the Black Plague (“Too many rats, not enough cats”). NINJA ASSASSIN
So Deejer, that youngblood Travs and myself went to go see Jennifer’s Body this evening (highly recommend everyone to see it…if you got kids bring the whole family, grandma, baby, everyone) and we saw this trailer that made me jizz in my pants…ancient warrior shit meets modern days, guns, and it’s got my two favorite words in the title. Tron Legacy
Tron Legacy, the sequal to Tron, looks pretty dope, but more exciting is DAFT PUNK composing 24 tracks for the score to the film. It is set to release December 2010…that’s TWO Christmas/Chanukahs away…FML. OK not FML but you can sense my anxiety and love for Daft Punk, check out this teaser trailer revealed @ComicCon

The State
I’ve just recently Netflixed The State, the comedy troupe that lead to Wet Hot American Summer, Reno 911!, Stella, and Michael & Michael Have Issues. The show isn’t as funny as Reno or Wet Hot but it has it’s moments and it’s also fun to watch all the faces you see now when they were younger. The clip below features Michael Ian Black and Thomas Lennon dancing around pudding.
